Pink Moon Rising
No the moon won't be pink. In the 1930's a Maine Farmer's Almanac began publishing Native American Moon names for the months of the year. According to that Almanac, April is the Pink Moon named so for the herb moss pink or the creeping phlox which blooms this month. We don't see any of those plants in Texas but we do see a lot of wild flowers.
Turns out the full moon for April is also a supermoon. That term was first used by astrologer Richard Nolle in 1979. It references when the moon is closest in its approach to the earth. Really to look at the moon at this time it might appear the thickness of you thumbnail bigger so not much but it can be much brighter.
What ever you call it, April's moon is sure to be beautiful.
