Age and Treachery...

One of my struggles is mobility. In my younger days, I injured my back and have struggled ever since. Add insult to injury I was hit by a car (my body) while photographing a storm on the side of the road in 2016 and my left leg has had several surgeries. All that said, I feel blessed because I am walking but not as far as I used to even before 2016.

Many of the photos you see are taken from my truck. Or not very far from where I parked. I enjoy so many of my friend's photos who are able to hike all over Palo Duro Canyon and miss doing so but I am still able to get some pretty snazzy shots. This one is just off the shoulder of HWY 207 which goes right through Palo Duro Canyon and offers amazing vistas. I love that song with the verse, "I am not as good as I once was but I am good once as I ever was." Don't let age or disability slow you down, just change vehicles! The other saying I love, "Age and treachery will win over youth and vigor every time." Not that it is a contest but it is nice having honed skills and not having to fumble to figure out the shot.
